Biology Read - Science
products in the form of facts, principles, models, laws, theories, and biology
are produced by biological scientists through scientific work.
Scientific work is a series of activities undertaken
by people who have a scientific attitude, using a process skill approach and
through the steps of scientific methods.
How do researchers produce a science product? Is
it possible that we can follow the way they work? In order to produce a new
science product, scientists must be sensitive and think critically of the
events or symptoms that exist in nature.
They
must also work diligently and thoroughly (inside and outside the laboratory)
and conduct discussions to exchange opinions with other scientists about their
findings.
Many
biological scientists have produced science products. Scientists include the
following:
- Gregor Mendel, who has discovered the principles of genetics.
- Antonie van Leeuwenhoek was the first to discover microorganisms using a microscope of his creation.
- Ian Wilmut, through his research successfully cloned to produce Dolly sheep.
- Alexander Fleming who managed to find an antibiotic.
We can
become like them too, as long as we have a scientific attitude that scientists
have in order to produce a science, as follows:
- Not believing in superstition, whose truth can not be proven scientifically.
- Sensitive and critical of phenomena or natural events.
- Have a high curiosity. So, do not think bad to people who like to ask because likes to ask is one part of having a high curiosity
- Have a great interest to be able to produce a science product. This is so that a scientist has a sense of passion in creating new things.
- Thinking logically, openly, and willing to accept criticism and opinions of others. Do not be a selfish researcher and do not accept criticism from others. Do not forget, that criticism is very important for the progress of your research.
- Honest and objective to the results of research conducted.
- Thorough, diligent, and not easily discouraged when doing research.
- Optimistic on the results of research.
- Respect the results of research and discovery of others.
- Be respectful to other researchers or others.
